This textured and thoughtfully composed piece was created by the older learners at the Anna Foundation’s Graham Beck after-school project. With the South African flag forming a bold backdrop, the artwork highlights the heritage and unity of the South African people.
The shirt, a focal point of the piece, is richly decorated using a variety of grains – including split peas, lentils, two-minute noodles, wheat and corn – creating a striking mix of texture and earthy tones.
