This eye-catching piece was created by learners from the Anna Foundation’s Groot Constantia after-school project. Set against a bright blue background, the children used foamalite to form a honeycomb pattern and leaves bringing structure and shape to their design.
The artwork is beautifully decorated in the colours of the South African flag, with a matching flag-inspired border that frames the piece and celebrates national pride.
One of the standout features of this artwork is that this A1 piece (59.4cm x 84.1cm) isn’t framed but instead, the learners built their own easel to display it. This creative choice reflects the initiative and thoughtfulness behind the work.
